Welcome! If you’re reading this, you’ve probably just started using Proofdesk.
You might be a new member of a team that’s already up and running, or you might have just completed onboarding with us and are logging in for the first time. Either way, this is the best place to begin.
Proofdesk is a compliance platform used by regulated firms to manage their customer due diligence (CDD) and AML/CFT review processes. Each customer relationship in Proofdesk follows a clear, auditable workflow from onboarding through approval, review, and (when needed) termination. This ensures your firm’s processes are consistent, traceable, and inspection-ready at all times.
What this guide is for
The Learn the Basics guide gives you a practical introduction to how Proofdesk works and how to use it day-to-day. You don’t need to be technical, everything here is written for normal users who just want to understand what to do, why it matters, and how the pieces fit together.
We’ll start with the foundations of how Proofdesk organises your compliance information, then walk through creating and reviewing a relationship step by step.
By the end, you’ll know how to:
Understand the structure of Proofdesk and what the main terms mean
Record a new customer and start their onboarding review
Add Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and complete a risk assessment
Submit reviews for approval and see how relationships move through their lifecycle
Export information for audits or inspections
Use the dashboard and lists to stay on top of your firm’s compliance activity

What you'll need
You’ll get the most from this guide if:
Your account has already been created (usually by your organisation’s administrator)
You’ve logged into Proofdesk at least once
You can access your organisation’s live data (even if it’s just for testing or training)
